GENERAL PROJECT INFORMATION

The Los Mina Combined-cycle-Power Plant will be the largest in the whole of the Dominican Republic. The project involves converting Santo Domingo's Los Mina thermoelectric plant, which consists of two gas turbines operating in open cycle, to combined cycle. Works will include installing two heat recovery steam generators and one steam turbine.

PROJECT BENEFITS

The new plant will add 114MW of new power generation capacity to the existing 210MW open cycle. The conversion to combined-cycle will make the Los Minas power plant one of the most competitive in the country with a 50% increase in efficiency.
